So, I decided to dive into this whole “psychology” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I started with the basics, you know, the “Introducing Psychology” kind of stuff. My main focus was this idea of breaking things down into: Brain, Person, and Group.

First, I grabbed a bunch of introductory psychology books and online articles. Nothing too fancy, just the general stuff to get a feel for the landscape. I really wanted to understand how these three levels – Brain, Person, Group – interact.
Brain
I started with the brain. It seemed like the most, well, concrete place to begin. I looked at diagrams, basic functions of different areas, and that sort of thing. I’m no neuroscientist, so I kept it simple. I just wanted to get a general sense of how the physical brain plays a role in, well, everything!
- Read about basic brain structures (lobes, hemispheres, etc.).
- Watched some videos explaining basic brain functions.
- Tried to understand how damage to certain areas affects behavior (like those crazy case studies!).
Person
Next, I moved on to the “Person” level. This felt a little more familiar. This is where I explored things like personality, individual experiences, and how people think and feel. I read about different personality theories, and I have to say, some of them are pretty out there! But it was cool to see how different psychologists have tried to categorize and understand what makes us tick.
- explored personality
- looked different personal experiences.
- how people thing and feel in their daily life.
Group
Finally, I tackled the “Group” level. This was all about how we interact with each other, social influences, and group dynamics. I read about things like conformity, obedience, and how being in a group can change our behavior, even if it against our will. It’s kind of scary, but also super fascinating. I mean, we’re all part of groups, all the time, so it’s good to understand this stuff!

- how we interact with others.
- how being in a group can change our behavior
- some social rules.
So, that’s where I’m at. I’ve taken this big, complex topic – psychology – and broken it down into these three manageable chunks. I’ve gone from the physical brain, to the individual person, to the way we act in groups. I’ve still got a long way to go, but I feel like I’ve got a solid foundation now. It’s been a process of reading, watching, pondering, and connecting the dots. I’ll keep you posted on my progress!
