Alright, so I’ve been messing around with some psychology stuff lately, specifically this “Discovering Psychology: Testing and Intelligence” thing. It’s been a wild ride, let me tell you.
First off, I started digging into what makes people tick. You know, the whole psychology shebang. I found this worksheet online, and it got me thinking about all these different ways to test intelligence. I mean, how do you even measure how smart someone is? It’s not like you can just crack open their skull and count the brain wrinkles, right?
So, I dove into these different tests they talked about. There are these things called IQ tests, which are supposed to give you a number that represents your intelligence. But then there are other tests that look at different kinds of smarts, like how well you can solve problems or how good you are with people.
I tried answering some of the questions on the worksheet, and let me tell you, some of them were real brain busters. There was one where you had to figure out what comes next in a sequence of shapes. I stared at that thing for like 20 minutes before I finally got it. Felt pretty good when I did, though.
Here’s the thing about intelligence
- It’s not just one thing.
- There are different ways to be smart.
- These tests are just one way to try and measure it.
Then, I started looking up information about savants. These are people who have some serious skills in one area, like music or math, but might struggle in other areas. It’s fascinating how the brain can work in such different ways. I watched a few videos about it, and I was blown away by what some of these folks can do.

After all this, I’m still not sure I have all the answers, but I definitely learned a lot. It’s cool to see how psychologists try to understand how our minds work, and how they use tests to measure these things. This whole “discovering psychology” journey has been pretty eye-opening, I realized that there is still a lot of things I need to learn.
