Okay, so I’ve been wanting to try out a new tarot spread for a while, and I finally decided to give the Zodiac spread a shot. I’m not gonna lie, it looked a little intimidating at first, but it turned out to be pretty cool.

First, I grabbed my favorite tarot deck – the one I always use when I’m feeling a bit lost. Then, I cleared a space on my table. Gotta have good vibes, you know? I lit a candle and some incense, just to set the mood. Made some space between myself and all of those.
Next, I shuffled the cards while thinking about my life in general. No specific question, just a “what do I need to know?” kind of vibe. The Zodiac spread is all about looking at different areas of your life, so I wanted to keep it open.
The Layout
This is where it got a little tricky. The Zodiac spread uses all twelve astrological houses. So, basically, you lay out twelve cards in a circle, like a clock. Each card represents a different house, and each house represents a different part of your life.
- Card 1 (Aries/1st House): This is all about YOU – your identity, your appearance, how you present yourself to the world.
- Card 2 (Taurus/2nd House): This one’s about your possessions, your finances, your self-worth.
- Card 3 (Gemini/3rd House): Communication, siblings, short trips, your local community.
- Card 4 (Cancer/4th House): Home, family, your roots, your emotional foundation.
- Card 5 (Leo/5th House): Creativity, romance, fun, children, self-expression.
- Card 6 (Virgo/6th House): Daily routines, work, health, service to others.
- Card 7 (Libra/7th House): Partnerships, relationships, marriage, contracts.
- Card 8 (Scorpio/8th House): Shared resources, intimacy, transformation, other people’s money.
- Card 9 (Sagittarius/9th House): Higher education, long journeys, philosophy, beliefs.
- Card 10 (Capricorn/10th House): Career, public image, reputation, ambitions.
- Card 11 (Aquarius/11th House): Friendships, groups, hopes, dreams, aspirations.
- Card 12 (Pisces/12th House): The subconscious, secrets, hidden things, endings.
I laid out the cards one by one, trying to remember which house was which. I definitely had to keep looking at my notes! Once they were all down, I just sat there for a minute, taking it all in.

Then, I started looking at each card individually, thinking about what it meant in the context of its house. Like, the first card was the Three of Cups, which is all about celebration and friendship. Since it was in the first house, I figured it meant I needed to focus on expressing myself more and connecting with people who really get me.
I went through all twelve cards like that, making notes in my journal. Some of them made perfect sense right away, others were a little more confusing. It felt like a big puzzle, trying to piece together the meaning of each card and how it related to the others.
Honestly, after I’d gone through all the cards, I felt like I had a much clearer picture of what’s going on in my life right now. It’s like the spread gave me a roadmap of the different areas I need to focus on, and also some of the challenges I might be facing.
I’m definitely going to keep working with this spread. I think it’ll be really helpful to do it every few months, just to check in and see how things are evolving. It’s a bit more work than a simple three-card spread, but it’s totally worth it for the insights you get!
