Okay, so I’ve been digging into this whole “industrial organizational psychology research topics” thing, and let me tell you, it’s a rabbit hole! I wanted to find some fresh ideas for my next project, and I figured I’d share my process, ’cause why not?

Starting Simple
First, I just did a basic search. You know, typed “industrial organizational psychology research topics” into the search bar and hit enter. I got a bunch of results, some of which were university websites and other academic sources.
Getting More Specific
After browsing those initial results, I started to realize I needed to be more specific. There are so many possible topics. So, I started thinking about what really interests me.
- Do I want to look at something about employee motivation?
- Or maybe team dynamics?
- Or how about leadership styles?
I decided to narrow it down to “leadership styles”&”employee motivation”. I felt like those were two areas with a lot of potential for interesting research.
Digging Deeper
I then modified my search. adding more keywords. and refining my search with questions I thought were worth investigating.

Finding My Focus
After all this searching and thinking, I think I’ve finally landed on a few potential research topics that I’m excited about:
- The impact of remote work on team cohesion.
- How different leadership styles affect employee creativity.
- The relationship between employee well-being programs and job satisfaction.
I still have some work to do to refine these further, but it’s a good starting point. I’ll need to do more reading to see what research has already been done and where the gaps are. But, hey, that’s half the fun, right?
I will keep updating and sharing the process!
