Okay, so I finally got my hands on the “Introduction to Psychology 11th Edition” textbook. I’ve been meaning to brush up on my psych knowledge, and this seemed like a good place to start. I remember taking intro to psych way back in college, but honestly, most of it is a blur now.

First thing I did was just flip through the whole book. You know, get a feel for the layout, the chapters, and how much stuff I actually don’t remember. Lots of pictures and diagrams, which is good. I’m a visual learner, so that helps a ton.
Then, I decided to tackle it chapter by chapter. Chapter 1, what is psychology all about, that kind of stuff. I made some coffee, because, you know, focus.
- I started by reading, just straight through, no notes or anything.
- Once all of chapter1 done, I went back and re-read, but this time I highlighted the important-sounding bits. Definitions, key concepts, famous psychologist names, that sort of thing.
- And then, I wrote some simple notes.
Honestly, the first few chapters were kind of a slog. History of psychology, research methods… It’s important stuff, I get it, but not exactly edge-of-your-seat exciting. It felt a bit like studying for a test, which, I guess, I kind of am.
Next Step
My plan is to keep going, one chapter at a time, using this read-highlight-notes method. It’s slow going, I’m already realize that, but I think it’ll stick better this way. Also I try to find some videos or podcasts that cover the same topics, hearing it explained in a different way is usefull too.

I’ll keep you guys posted on my progress. Maybe I’ll even share some of the more interesting stuff I learn along the way. Wish me luck – I have a feeling I’m gonna need it!
