Okay, so today I dug into this whole “IVC Psychology” thing. Honestly, I wasn’t even sure what it was at first, just a phrase I’d seen floating around.

First, I started with a simple search. Just typed it in to see what would pop up. Lots of stuff about Irvine Valley College, which I guess makes sense, given the “IVC.”
Then, I realized I needed to be more specific. It’s not just about the college, but about the psychology program or maybe psychology courses there. So I refined my search, adding “program” and “courses” to the mix.
That helped a bit. I found some pages listing faculty, course descriptions, and stuff like that. I started clicking through, just trying to get a feel for what they offer.
- I saw they have the basic intro courses, like “Intro to Psych.”
- Then there were more specialized ones, like “Abnormal Psych” and “Developmental Psych.” Sounds heavy!
- I even noticed a few that seemed pretty niche, covering specific topics or research areas.
I spent a good chunk of time just browsing the course descriptions. I was trying to get a sense of what the classes are actually like. What do they cover? What kind of work do students do?

Next, I tried to find some student reviews or testimonials. You know, get the real scoop from people who’ve actually been through it. That proved a little tougher. Didn’t find a ton of that online.
I Looked for faculty.
Checked out the faculty profiles.
I explored research opportunities.

I was looking for any research projects or labs associated with the psychology department, but that will take me to deep dive in research.
So, that’s where I’m at now. I have a much better idea of what “IVC Psychology” refers to – the psychology offerings at Irvine Valley College. I got a glimpse of the courses, and a little peek at the faculty. Still some more digging to do, but I feel like I’m on the right track!
