Okay, so, today I wanted to talk about my journey pursuing a “PhD in Astrology.” I know, it sounds a bit out there, but stick with me.

It all started when I got curious about those job boards. You know, the ones that list all sorts of PhD positions? Well, I started digging around Saudi Arabia, ’cause why not? I was looking through Glassdoor and saw there were like 75 openings for PhD jobs. Saudi Arabia? Really? What are the odds?
Then I started exploring a bunch of other sites. I even set up some email alerts for any PhD positions that might pop up. Gotta stay on top of things, right? The application process seemed pretty standard – cover letter, explaining why I’m even bothering to apply, you know, the usual stuff.
But then I stumbled upon this website that had a whole list of like, 418 PhD positions! They were all about fellowships, scholarships, and different programs. I thought, “Man, I could just sign up and get these opportunities delivered right to my inbox!” So I did, obviously.
Next, I found out about these MS and PhD programs that cover 17 subjects. And get this – they’re fully funded. Imagine that, not having to worry about tuition or anything. Just focus on your studies. Sounds dreamy, doesn’t it? But apparently, it’s super competitive, so you gotta have a killer academic record to even stand a chance.

- First step: Browsing job boards and discovering a bunch of PhD positions in Saudi Arabia.
- Second step: Setting up email alerts to stay updated on new opportunities.
- Third step: Found a site with over 400 PhD positions and subscribed to their notifications.
- Fourth step: Learned about fully-funded MS and PhD programs, but realized the competition is fierce.
So, that’s where I’m at now. It’s a wild ride, but I’m learning a lot. I pushed myself to explore new things. I tried new things and recorded every step. I kept searching, applying, and learning along the way. And who knows where this “PhD in Astrology” will take me? It’s all about the journey, right?
My main takeaways from this whole experience?
- Be curious: Don’t be afraid to explore things that pique your interest, even if they seem unconventional.
- Stay organized: Keep track of your applications, deadlines, and any relevant information.
- Be persistent: The application process can be tough, but don’t give up easily.
- Embrace the learning process: Even if you don’t get the position you want, you’ll still learn a lot along the way.
Anyway, that’s my story for now. Hope you found it somewhat interesting or at least a little bit entertaining. Catch you guys later!
