Okay, so I finally got my hands on the Zerner Farber Enchanted Tarot cards! I’d been eyeing them for a while because, well, the artwork is just stunning. Seriously, it’s like a collage dream. I’m a sucker for anything that looks like it came out of a vintage scrapbook. So, I decided to do a little unboxing and first impressions thing today.

First off, the box itself is pretty sturdy. I appreciate that because I’m clumsy and tend to drop things. Inside, you’ve got the deck and a pretty thick guidebook. The cards themselves are a decent size, not too big, not too small, and they feel pretty good in my hands. They’re not super flimsy, but they’re also not overly thick, which I like for shuffling.
My First Reading
I decided I do a simple three-card spread just to get a feel for the deck. You know, past, present, future kind of thing. I shuffled the cards, focusing on a general question about my week ahead. Here’s the detailed card drawing and shuffling process:
- I held the deck in my left hand.
- Closed my eyes, took three deep breaths to clear my head.
- I started shuffling, thinking about my question.
- I cut the deck into three piles with my left hand.
- I picked up the cards.
- Drew three cards.
The cards I pulled were pretty interesting! I won’t bore you with all the details of my personal reading, but I will say that the imagery on the cards really sparked my intuition. The guidebook was helpful too, offering some keywords and interpretations, but I found myself relying more on what the pictures themselves were saying to me.
I spent some time just looking at the cards, really taking in all the details. The colors, the symbols, the little snippets of text – it all felt very…layered. I think this is a deck that will reveal more and more over time, the more I work with it.
Overall, I’m super happy with these cards so far. I’m excited to keep practicing with them. I might even try a more complex spread next time. I’ll keep you guys posted on how it goes!
