Okay, so I finally decided to dive into the “Witches Tarot” deck I’d been eyeing for ages. I’ve always been drawn to tarot, but more from an aesthetic and self-reflection perspective, you know? I’m not really claiming to tell the future or anything.

First, I unboxed the deck. The card stock feels pretty good—not too flimsy, not too stiff. And the artwork? Seriously gorgeous. It’s got this modern witchy vibe, but it’s still grounded in the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith imagery, so it’s easy to follow if you’re already familiar with that.
Then I tried to make the deck get familar with me.
I spent some time just shuffling the cards, getting a feel for them. I looked at each card, one by one, just noticing the details, the colors, the expressions on the characters’ faces. It’s a really immersive experience.

My First Reading
- I decided my very first pratical using for a simple three-card spread: Past, Present, and Future. I’m not tackling anything major, just a general “where am I at?” kind of reading.
And then, I shuffled them again, and I cut the deck.
- I laid out the cards.
I got The Star for the Past (nice!), The Lovers for the Present (interesting…), and The Wheel of Fortune for the Future (ooh, things are gonna change!).
- And for last, I picked up the cards and put them back together.
I spent a good hour just journaling about what those cards might mean for me. The Star, for example, I connected with a period of healing and hope after a tough time. The Lovers, well, that’s got some obvious relationship connotations, but I also thought about choices and partnerships in a broader sense. And The Wheel of Fortune? Definitely feels like a reminder that life is full of ups and downs, and to embrace the ride.
Overall, I’m super happy with this deck. It’s beautiful, it feels good in my hands, and it’s already sparking some interesting reflections. I’m definitely going to keep experimenting with different spreads and seeing where this journey takes me!
