Okay, so I’ve been messing around with Tarot cards lately, mostly just for fun and self-reflection. I got this idea to make a simple “Yes/No” Tarot list, to make quick readings easier. Here’s how I did it:

Getting Started
First, I grabbed my trusty Rider-Waite deck. I could have used any deck, but this one’s my go-to, and the imagery is pretty clear. Then, I grabbed a notebook and pen. Because I’m all about that analog life.
The Sorting Process
Next, I just went through the deck, card by card. For each card, I asked myself, “Does this feel like a ‘Yes’ or a ‘No’?” I really just relied on my gut feeling here. Some were obvious, like the Sun (total ‘Yes’!), while others were trickier.
- I made three piles: “Yes,” “No,” and “Maybe/Unclear.” The “Maybe” pile was for the cards I just couldn’t decide on.
- For the “Maybe” cards, I did a little extra digging. I looked up some common interpretations online. Not to get a definitive answer, but more to get a different perspective.
- I found the reversed cards added another challenge, I must write those down separately.
My “Yes” Cards (A Few Examples)
These are just some of the cards I put in the “Yes” pile. I’m not listing them all, because that’s a lot of cards!
- The Sun: Super positive vibes, success, happiness. Definitely a ‘Yes’.
- The Star: Hope, inspiration, good things coming. Another clear ‘Yes’.
- The Lovers: If you make the right decision, it can be very positive.
- Six of Wands: Victory, recognition, feeling good about your accomplishments. ‘Yes’!
- Ten of Cups: Emotional fulfillment, happy family, contentment. Big ‘Yes’.
My “No” Cards (A Few Examples)
And here are a few from the “No” pile:

- The Tower: Sudden upheaval, chaos, things falling apart. Nope.
- Five of Swords: Conflict, arguments, winning at someone else’s expense. Not a good ‘Yes’.
- Ten of Swords: Feeling defeated, hitting rock bottom, endings. Definitely ‘No’.
The “Maybe/Unclear” Pile
I ended up with a handful of cards in this pile. Stuff like:
- The Hermit: Could mean needing time alone to figure things out, or could mean isolation. So, it depends.
- The Wheel of Fortune: Change is coming, but is it good or bad? Hard to say without more context.
Putting it All Together
After I sorted all the cards, I wrote down the lists in my notebook. I decided to keep the “Maybe” list too, just in case I needed to do a more nuanced reading later.
Using the List
Now, when I want a quick “Yes/No” answer, I can just shuffle my deck, draw a card, and check my list. It’s not foolproof, of course. Tarot’s always open to interpretation. But it’s a fun little tool, and it definitely speeds up the process when I’m just looking for a quick bit of guidance.
If you are interseted in tarot or divination, just do it. I hope that blog post has been useful for you.
